On the 21 – 22 June, 2012 will be Joint Training Seminar “Heritage and Cultural Policies and Strategies for a Sustainable Tourism Promotion and Development in European Regions” for officers and policy makers

Seminar will be attended by Raitis Sijāts, Chairman of the Board of Vidzeme Tourism Association, Jānis Kalnačs, Faculty Dean, Professor of Vidzeme Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Edgars Pudzis, Head of Development and planning department of Carnikava Municipality, Astrīda Harju, Mayor of Ape Municipality, Ella Frīvalde-Andersone, Mayor of Vecpiebalga Municipality and Ilze Millere, Head of Limbazi Tourism Information Centre.

The Seminar will be organised by University of Barcelona - IBERTUR (Network of heritage, tourism and sustainable development, Spain) in collaboration with the Catalonia government.
University of Barcelona – IBERTUR will be a knowledge provider to all destination partner regions, with specialised inputs on Cultural Routes, Heritage Label, links with other relevant Networks, and the Training Course. 

Seminar will contribute with a study of best practices associated to European cultural routes, benmarking strategies, indicators, capacity-building, training and applied research. The benefit for the project is to have the participation of Academy with a perspective of networking and applied research and capacity building with public and private sector to contribute with the aims of Project CHARTS. The Training Course materials will form an important output of the project.
