[20.04.2008] Planning of a new cycling route in Vidzeme and southern Estonia takes place in Valmiera
On Tuesday, the 15th of April in Valmiera, the members of Vidzeme Tourism Association were discussing about the possibility to apply for a new Latvian-Estonian cross-boarder project
According to Ginta Zariņa, the head of the Development Department of Valmiera District Council, the aim of the project is to promote long-term cooperation in tourism development, especially in the field of cycling and cycling infrastructure. The project includes development of the exsisting infrastructure, as well as promotion of Vidzeme and southern Estonia as a common toursim destination. The project is organized together with the Estonian partners - Valga, Viru and Tartu counties.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the parishes, that will participate in the project - Valmiera city, Kauguri parish, Kocēni parish, Vaidava parish and Brenguļi parish.
